Batalha presents a fortnightly programme featuring selections of films that have recently stood out at the most prestigious international film festivals, but which were not shown commercially or at festivals in Porto.

X-Novo is an open window into new trends in global film production and an invitation to discover the most outstanding contemporary productions.

This programme is developed by Batalha's artistic team in dialogue with a group of programmers — Adam Piron (Sundance Festival), Daniel Ribas (Curtas Vila do Conde), Delphine Jeanneret (Locarno Festival) and Jacqueline Nsiah (Berlinale) — who collaborate in the continuous observation of films presented in the main sections of international festivals.
