Queer Porto’s 9th edition will take to the stage at Batalha Centro de Cinema, with two competitive sections from the festival: the Official Competition and the “Casa Comum” Prize for Portuguese shorts. The festival dedicates this edition to the No Wave movement in New York and its leading figures, such as Nan Goldin and Lydia Lunch, with a film retrospective of Vivenne Dick, in dialogue with works by Bette Gordon, James Nares and Nick Zedd. Queer Porto also welcomes the work of Gloria Anzaldúa, little known in Portugal; as well as bell hooks, in the form of her book All About Love; without forgetting a night dedicated to The Hidden Cameras.
