After Nan Goldin in 2022, this year's guest on Multiplex is Sara Driver, filmmaker associated with the New York independent scene. She got her start with You Are Not I (1981), based on a text by Paul Bowles, and lost for years. Her most recent film is dedicated to Jean-Michel Basquiat, a close friend. Besides producing Jim jarmusch's early films, she starred in Keep It for Yourself (1991), by Claire Denis. Multiplex 2023 includes a masterclass by Sara Driver at Universidade Lusófona, a programme with the filmmaker's works and a special screening with the films directed by students attending the school’s degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication. Multiplex is an annual programme by Universidade Lusófona, and take splace at Batalha Centro de Cinema and Espaço Mira, dedicated to contemporary multimedia and film.
