Since 2017, IndieJunior visits the city’s main cinemas for seven days to present the most creative and original children’s and youth cinema from around the world. The festival integrates an international film competition, with about 50 recent productions (fictions, documentaries, animations), almost all unreleased in the country, and that are evaluated by juries that award the prizes. In 2023, in its seventh edition, the festival has the Sea as its central theme and once again proposes a vast programme of film sessions, workshops and other activities for families and schools, in partnership with the FILMar project, operated by the Cinemateca Portuguesa. IndieJunior Porto is a great celebration of cinema, a world projected on the big screen where there is room for all ideas and dreams.
