The Flaherty Seminar is one of the most important meetings on non-fiction cinema in the world. Every year, filmmakers, artists, students, researchers, curators, critics, archivists and cinephiles come together for an immersive programme of film screenings and collective debates. The 70th edition takes place in New York and unfolds in other locations around the world. This year, Pod do Porto is synchronous with the Flaherty Seminar and presents the full programme at Batalha Centro de Cinema (on the 28th and 29th of June) and at ESAP (on the 26th and 27th of June). In the spirit of the seminar, all the screenings are a surprise until the beginning of each meeting and are followed by a debate with guests. This edition is curated by Janaína Oliveira, Carlos Guttiérez and Richard Herskowitz. In Porto, filmmaker Amarante Abramovici is organising the event.
