The Festa do Cinema Italiano is back to celebrate its 18th edition, stopping in several cities - including Porto. Created in 2008, the festival has grown and is coming of age this year. The 2025 edition marks an important stage in the festival's growth, with a rich, diverse, enthusiastic and daring programme that evokes the sense of freedom and autonomy that this age brings. From the 14th of May, the best of Italian cinema will be screened in various venues in Porto. Batalha hosts the opening screening of Roberto Andò's film The illusion, a historical drama that follows a Sicilian colonel (Toni Servillo) during the Expedition of the Thousand led by Giuseppe Garibaldi.
