The Family Film Project has been held annually in Porto since 2012. Dedicated to alternative forms of cinematic expression, the festival emphasises the archaeological dimension of images, explored in ethnographic cinema as well as found footage, experimental or "home movies". With various lines of action, the Family Film Project crosses the boundaries between cinema and other arts and areas of thought, integrating performance cycles, exhibitions, conferences and masterclasses with international theorists, filmmakers and artists into its programme.
