Eduardo Williams studied at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, before graduating from Le Fresnoy — Studio national des arts contemporains in France. His first short films were shot in Argentina, but his more recent works have been set in various parts of the world, centring on themes such as uncertain movement, spontaneous connections and peculiar visual wanderings through the terrestrial atmosphere. Pude ver un puma (2011) and Que caigo? (2013) premiered at Cinéfondation and Directors Fortnight at Cannes.

His first feature film, El auge del humano (2016), a hybrid work between documentary and fiction, won the award for Best Film in the Cineasti del Presente section at Locarno, and was later shown at Toronto, New York, Tate and the Viennale, among others.

Parsi, co-directed by the poet Mariano Blatt, premiered at the Berlinale in 2020 and, in 2023, El auge del humano 3 was shown at Locarno — the same film will now have its national premiere at Batalha.
