For film lovers aged 8 to 110, Batalha's new course includes six chapters that cover the history of the seventh art, from the first attempts to represent movement to the present day. Each chapter, with independent enrolment and attendance, includes theoretical and practical sessions, film screenings and even guided tours of very curious places. This course is coordinated by Miguel Ramos.

Chapter I — From Optical Artifice to the Moving Image
In this first chapter, we'll take a very long walk (historically speaking), starting with the first known experiments in trying to represent movement. We'll build some optical toys, take a guided tour of the Casa-Museu de Vilar accompanied by Abi Feijó and end with a very special session called As Primeiras Vezes (The First Times).
