Challenging the Cinema Room occupies the cinema room with the aim of investigating the qualities, possibilities and limitations of the conventional cinema room device. Artists who use the means of cinema in its most experimental form explore and exhibit the results of this research, at a time when the research is materialised in various formats, such as readings, talks, performances, film and/or sound installations. This year's Challenging the Cinema Room will feature the participation of artists and directors Jeannette Muñoz and Sílvia das Fadas. This event is part of SPECTRAL, a project run by the Laia Cooperative that brings Laboratório da Torre into partnership with six European analogue film laboratories run by artists.
