BEAST - Central and Eastern European International Film Festival's 8th edition reflects a moment of transformation. From this year on, BEAST will take place in the first half of the annual festivals calendar. In this transitional edition, some of the established programme spaces will be maintained, such as the Official Competition (EAST WAVE, EAST DOC, experimentalEAST, ANIMA EAST) and special themed sessions; moments from previous editions will be revisited, such as Portuguese Abroad (Portugal - Eastern Europe connection); new spaces for experimentation will be created, with collaborative programmes. The festival remains true to its core: its intentions, its desires, its energy. Seeking to reinforce, through change, the festival's already established identity: a desire to share, in community, with film screenings, masterclasses, talks and other events, the most diverse visions and voices from Central and Eastern Europe with Porto's audience.
