BEAST returns to Batalha for its 7th edition. A year characterised by a strong ambition to create and promote a space for (re)connection and liaison. The festival proposes a programme of different activities (sessions, masterclasses, Q&As), seeking to critically reflect on issues and themes of a socio-political nature, through dialogue with — and the visions mirrored in the forms and narratives of — cinema. As always, BEAST is dedicated to the diverse cinematographies and voices of Central and Eastern Europe, maintaining its basic programming structure: Official Competition (Fiction, Documentary, Experimental and Animation), Country of Focus, Queer Programme, Visegrad Film Hub and Special Programmes. East, Match, Go!, the festival's industry event, will have its 2nd edition this year: a meeting place for film professionals from Portugal and Central and Eastern Europe.
