Batalhawood project is developed in collaboration with Batalha's neighbours with roots in Bangladesh, one of Porto’s most significant communities.
After visits, surveys and meetings, Batalha will screen two films from Dhallywood, a film industry based in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, selected jointly with the Bangladeshi population and the Bangladeshi Community Association.
On 21 February, Batalha will also host International Mother Language Day, a date of special historical importance for Bengali culture — a moment that marks the return of this event to Batalha, where it was once held. This day of celebration includes the awarding of the Interculturality Awards 2022 and is organised by the Bangladesh Community Association and Espaço T.
