BAP was born in 2011 as the animation studio of the production company Bando à Parte. In 2018, it became an autonomous organisation, like a cooperative, formed by a collective of directors, entertainers and storytellers who believe in the power of collaboration.

Alexandra Ramires, David Doutel, Laura Gonçalves, Rodrigo Areias, Vasco Sá and Vítor Hugo Rocha have been responsible for several animated short films whose quality and artistic diversity have won national and international recognition. The films produced by BAP have featured in the main international animation festivals — such as Annecy (Cristal Prize), Zagreb (Grand Prize, Audience Award), Hiroshima, Anima Brussels or AnimaMundi — and have also been selected for some of the most important film festivals on the international scene (Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Locarno or Clermont-Ferrand).

This retrospective session will show some of the collective's most representative works, which have proved to be one of the great driving forces behind animation in Portugal, breaking new aesthetic and formal ground.
