AIM — Associação de Investigadores da Imagem em Movimento (Association of Moving Image Researchers), a pioneer in academic studies in this area in Portugal, brings together researchers from around the world every year for a congress. On 30 May, Batalha will host a round table dedicated to the theme of Art Direction, featuring Caterina Cucinotta, Filipe Muanis, Manuela Bronze and Tiago Vieira da Silva. Kevin B. Lee, one of today's most prominent video essayists, will give a plenary lecture on "Afterlives, Afterimages", followed by a screening of audiovisual essays programmed in the context of his research project The Video Essay: Memories, Ecologies, Bodies.
On 31 May, at the last screening of the retrospective that Batalha is dedicating to Eduardo Williams, there will also be a conversation with the filmmaker, moderated by researcher Daniel Ribas.
