A Scottish filmmaker and animator specialising in 2D and 3D, Will Anderson writes, directs and produces work for film, TV, theatre and online. In 2013, his film The Making of Longbird was awarded the BAFTA for Best Animated Short Film. His most recent documentary A Cat Called Doom (2022), co-directed with Ainslie Henderson, combines real images with animation and looks at how Will copes with his mother’s cancer and how, in the meantime, the duo face the frustrations of completing the project. At Batalha, he will give a masterclass on his creative process, in a similar format to that presented at Pictoplasma 2023 in Berlin — a conference that brought together some of the most influential artists in the field of animation, illustration and game design.
