Writer and broadcaster John Doran claims that heavy metal is the last true form of mass modernism, exploring its evolution over half a century, from Black Sabbath to bands like Mayhem and SunnO))). In this performance presented by Lovers & Lollypops at Batalha, artist and filmmaker Sapphire Goss creates — from archive, 8mm and VHS footage — an enigmatic visual accompaniment to a mix of live music developed especially for the occasion by Norwegian art rock group Årabrot, Mark Pilkington (Strange Attractor Press) and electronic artist Ghost Writer.
