In the aftermath of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, we present a special session developed in collaboration with the Campo 24 de Agosto Parents' Association, with whom we have been working as part of the Schools programme. Una escuela en Cerro Hueso is a sensitive portrait of the first days of Ema, a six-year-old diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum, in a primary school - the only one that accepted her enrolment. Inspired by the filmmaker's family history, the film tenderly narrates the young protagonist's journey.
Screening followed by a talk — with Portuguese Sign Language.
Speakers: Laura Pereira (parent/guardian), Raquel Lebre (A Voz do Autista Portuguese Association) and Isabel Rêgo Barros (kindergarten teacher)
Moderation: Joana Nascimento (member of APEE24)
