A film that is not a film. Subjected to a 20-year ban on filming, Iranian director Jafar Panahi found a way to evade the physical and legal barriers imposed on him. In This Is Not a Film, co-director Mojtaba Mirtahasebi shoots for one day with Panahi as he prepares a new film, confined to his apartment. In order to be premiered in Cannes, This Is Not a Film had to be smuggled out of Iran on a flash drive hidden inside a cake.
