À pala de Walsh was born out of the admiration of a group of film buffs for American director Raoul Walsh, whose name inspired the film writing project and to whom the site's first dossier was dedicated in 2013. Among the American filmmaker's most striking films is The Roaring Twenties, one of the great classics of film noir. Starring James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and Priscilla Lane, it portrays the rise and fall of a World War I veteran in alcohol smuggling during the Prohibition era. A crime epic about power, betrayal and decadence.
Screening programmed and presented by À pala de Walsh.
