In Munich, in the summer of 1967, journalist Katharina gets a visit from her French friend Anne. Together, they explore the city, between walks, meetings with friends, cafes and parties, and engage in revealing conversations with other women about life, career, sex and fantasies. Through these interactions, this film builds a dreamlike and daring portrait of the experience as a German woman in the 60s. Considered the first feminist film in West Germany, The Cat Has Nine Lives questions the possibilities of female emancipation in a patriarchal society.
