At the centre of this most recent documentary by Luísa Homem is the life and work of the geographer Suzanne Daveau, now nearing her 100th birthday. It is a moving portrait of an adventurous woman fascinated by the world around her. Through interviews, archive photographs and homemade films, Homem traces the life story of this French-Portuguese researcher through her student years during the Second World War, her field research in Africa and Portugal, her loves, her family, and her reflections on feminism and modernity.
