Around the turn of the century, at the time of the “Gerações Curtas” (Short Generations), new young writers emerged in Portuguese cinema. Experimenting with the short film genre, using their own narrative tempos, these films took note of a certain urban experience. Some of them — those we will show here — did this through light comedy, indicating a singular moment in Portuguese cinematic history and challenging some of the most emblematic phantoms of the past.
