My 20th Century follows the twins Dóra and Lili, separated in infancy following the death of their mother. The two follow different paths: one becomes an anarchist revolutionary driven by feminist thinking, while the other becomes a capricious con-artist who steals from men. Years later, the two sisters’ paths cross once again, on New Year’s Eve 1899, on board the luxurious Orient Express. This eccentric comedy was an award-winner at Cannes. With its stunning black and white cinematography, it evokes the social and political changes of modernism and vibrates with the magic and exuberance of the cinema.
