When she finds her boyfriend's body next to a suicide note and an unpublished manuscript, Morvern makes an unexpected decision: she erases her past, assumes the authorship of the book and uses the publisher's payment to leave the small town where she lives. In the company of her best friend, she crosses Scotland and plunges into the oppressive heat of Ibiza on a journey of excess and the search for freedom.
