Manolito lives in the Madrid suburbs and lives through a complex day-to-day at school, at home and out on the street with his friends. Counting on his grandfather's complicity, he overcomes the daily grind. Until one day his absent father, a lorry driver, takes him on a road trip that will forever change both their fates. With a script based on the popular homonymous Elvira Lindo short story, Manolito Gafotas is a family comedy that presents us with a post-dictatorship Spain and the soon-to-be-familiar suburban youth setting of the contemporary spanish cinema.
