Ruins and empty spaces; altered emotional states; memory and what remains of it. Simulacrums of the real, captured and manipulated by cinema. These are the symptoms we will see in this screening, which brings together the experimental, intimate energy of the short film Hoax, by Rita Figueiredo, with the post-apocalyptic, communal exploration of A Força do Atrito, by Pedro M. Ruivo. In both films, space and time drive the narrative, using cinema as a source of friction between the present and the past, in a bleak look at the world.
