Invented in the 17th century, the Magic Lantern is a primitive projector that uses a light source and tinted glass lenses to project small coloured squares — making it a progenitor of the first ever audiovisual shows. In this performance, Abi Feijó (Casa Museu de Vilar) and Elsa Cerqueira (Filosofia com Cinema para Crianças) take us on a voyage through time, back to the roots of cinema, armed with authentic glass plates that are more than 100 years old. With accompaniment from the musicians André Aires and Guilherme Magalhães.
