Turner, an African American soldier stationed in France, receives a three-day pass as a reward for his imminent promotion. As he wanders through Paris, he meets the Frenchwoman Miriam and the two spend the weekend together. The connection between the pair suggests this is more than a fling, but their romance is put to the test by prejudice: Turner’s promotion is put at risk when the interracial relationship is reported to his captain.
