Since 2017, IndieJunior has been showing the latest, most creative and original children's and youth cinema in the city's main cinemas, including Batalha. The festival includes an international competition with around 50 recent productions, covering fiction, documentaries and animations. The central theme of the 9th edition is community, promoting films that highlight the diversity of communities in the moving image. The festival also encourages reflection on the spectator's potential as an active member of society. There will be seven days of festivities, with a diverse programme of film screenings, workshops and activities for families and schools.
