A cult documentary and one of the first examples of cinema verité in Spain, that reflects about the oppressive education that women received under Franco dictatorship. The film takes you behind the scenes as actors Lola Herrera and Daniel Dicenta, who were once married, review their lives and reflect on the isolation, repression, and immaturity in their relationship. The first documentary that gives a voice to women of that time who were fighting for equality and a place in society. Función de Noche is a pioneering work that remains a key piece of Spanish cinematography of the transition, and its themes are still relevant today.
Screening followed by talk with Pilar del Río e Inês Meneses.
