In connection with the Family Cinema Course — Gulliver, we invite the duo Von Calhau! for a film-concert that will use music and sound to transport us through the themes covered in the second chapter of the course: from early “talking machines” to voyages through sound. With the sonic tricks of Marta Ângel and João Alves — who have developed a prolific collaboration in both music and visual art — we will discover work by Alice Guy Blanché, the first woman filmmaker in history and one of the first people to realise the narrative potential of cinema, making her a fundamental figure in the early days of the film industry.
