Set in the vibrant world of fashion and show business, Cover Girl follows Rusty Parker (Rita Hayworth), a dancer who works in a small Brooklyn nightclub run by her boyfriend, Danny McGuire (Gene Kelly). After winning a contest to star on the cover of a prestigious women's magazine, the young woman sees her dream of rising to stardom about to be achieved — but is simultaneously confronted with her loyalties to Danny and her friends.
