In England at the beginning of the 19th century, the young and impertinent Fanny Brawne meets the haughty poet John Keats. Despite their differences, they enter into an intense yet sweet love affair. Drawing on the literary biography by Andrew Motion for factual information and on John Keats’s poetry for its creative tone, Bright Star follows the final three years of the English poet’s brief life. Narrated from Brawne’s perspective, the relationship between the two is one of the greatest love affairs in English literature — and marks the period in which Keats wrote some of the most well-known verses of the Romantic movement in England.
