In this screening dedicated to first times in cinema, we present a series of short films related to different themes from cinematic history that were covered in the Family Cinema Course — Gulliver. Besides the first films ever made, we will also show the first known video clips, made by Germaine Dulac; the first experiments in colour projection, conducted by Maurice Audibert; and the rise of Technicolor. There will also be an opportunity for us to explore, together, the relationship between cinema and video games. The screening culminates with a train robbery, in a pioneering silent film by Edwin S. Porter.
