Considered a pioneer of fashion in Portugal, in the 1970s the stylist Ana Salazar revolutionised the use of innovative clothing styles, devising fashion events for this purpose, such as catwalks aimed at a wide audience, exhibitions and other happenings. In 1978, she began to develop collections under her own name, which she sold in her own shops and other establishments both in Portugal and abroad. Along her vast career she has developed several campaigns and taken part in exhibitions and conferences. Drawing on her broad experience, Ana Salazar talks to the programme’s curator João Sousa Cardoso about the connections between fashion, cinema and the moving image.
