In An Angel at my Table, Jane Campion presents a moving portrait of the life of Janet Frame, based on her autobiography. The film follows the famous New Zealand author’s journey from childhood in a poor family suffering countless tragedies, through eight years in a psychiatric hospital thanks to a mistaken diagnosis of schizophrenia, and up to international literary fame.
