An old man and his dog cross a snow-covered town at night, picking up large empty bottles, moving towards the forest. All around him, in a desolate scenario of armed conflict, we only hear the tinkling of nearby glass and the noise of weapons being fired in the distance. The director’s first fiction feature film was shot entirely in Bosnia during the harsh winter months. It offers delicate sequence shots of the landscape. The film, which had its world premiere at the Berlin Festival, reflects on the circularity of life and the world in a slow cinema journey, lensed on 16mm film.
In this screening we will launch the book dedicated to the director's work, André Gil Mata — A Glimmer in the Darkness.
