The Film Criticism course aims to cover the manifold ways of studying, understanding and interpreting cinema through writing, proposing a reflection on what criticism is, what it is for, what it consists of and how it is produced.
In this course the concept of film criticism will be explored in depth and its connection to the visual arts, music, literature and the performing arts will be addressed. The course will mix theory and practice and culminate in a publication containing pieces of criticism written by students and tutors.
The first edition of the Film Criticism course has been curated by the critic and director Saguenail and is entitled The Forge.
