Programme:
In his room, a teenager faces himself in the mirror. Misunderstood and repressed by a violent father, a treacherous classmate and an insensitive teacher, Pedro only finds an escape in the waters of the Mondego. One afternoon, Pedro saves Ana from drowning, and hopes she will save him from his life. From this coming-of-age, António Ferreira brings new sonorities and a very particular visual sense to Portuguese cinema, also taking advantage of Alexandre Pinto’s dazzling presence, with Coimbra as a backdrop.
