The highly prolific punk director Edgar Pêra’s extensive filmography, which stretches back to the early 1990s, contains this short film. Shot in the ruins of a Chiado ravaged by fire, Reproduta Interdita is a fiction in which two characters (a nurse and a mutant) wander through a dystopian future. Making use of physical manipulation of the film stock and a new written language, in this film Pêra created a personal and phantasmagorical universe.
