Programme:
Val (Regina Casé) left Pernambuco to work as a maid in São Paulo and to provide a better life for her daughter Jéssica (Camila Márdila), who was left in the care of her grandparents. When, 13 years later, Jéssica decides to go to São Paulo to take her university entrance exams — staying with her mother's wealthy employers — the balance that had existed until then is jeopardised. Winner of several awards, including the Audience Award at Sundance and Berlin, Que Horas Ela Volta? is a powerful critique of social inequalities in Brazilian society.
