The first film written and directed by Céline Sciamma, La naissance des pieuvres follows a love triangle between three teenage girls who meet at a municipal swimming pool during the summer holidays. Marie (Pauline Acquart), Anne (Louise Blachère) and Floriane (Adèle Haenel) are 15 years old and find themselves entangled in the complexities of puberty, friendship and desire.
