A family weekend away at a house in the country. The teenage daughter has a secret to reveal, but her family won’t give her the opportunity: her father imposes his patriarchal authority through brutal words and gestures; her mother hides behind her mobile phone and books; and her brother is just a child who wants to play games. In Cláudia Varejão’s first fiction film, we can already spot her close observation of growing pains and their associated emotional relations, which the filmmaker would go on to develop in her subsequent works.
