Based on stories he had heard since his childhood about his father’s homeland, a small village in the interior of Portugal, David Pinheiro Vicente produced a portrait of a family during the popular festivals, that combines tradition, violence and desire. Inhabited by complex and contradictory characters, who navigate between the beautiful and the brutal, the delicate and the cruel, the story begins with the ritual of sacrificing a lamb, and goes on to reflect about the loss of innocence and rites of passage to adulthood.
