A group of teenagers seek refuge from the boredom of a summer vacation in a forest, next to a river, where the heat and their proximity arouse the usual youthful impulses and feelings. Between swimming and smoking cigarettes, they are confronted with the emotional twilight experience of puberty, from carnal desires to introspective conflicts. Structured across four chapters, Onde o verão vai (episódios da juventude) presents a vivid portrait of coming of age. This short film, developed in a school context and premiered at the Berlin Festival, was David Pinheiro Vicente’s directorial debut.
