Co-written and starring the Rastafari artist and musician Oba, Nosferasta puts together vampires and colonizers in a story shrouded in smoke. In the late 15th century, Oba leaves on ship filled with enslaved people, headed from West Africa to the Caribbean. During the trip, he’s bitten by the vampire Christopher Columbus, causing him to swear fealty to the “New World” — until he discovers Rastafarianism. One of the winners of the short film competition at the Rotterdam Festival 2022.
