Programme:
From a 50 year-old audio tape — in which his great-grandmother tries to teach his grandmother the pechanga language — Sky Hopinka departs on a poetic questioning on descendants and ancestors, his indigenous origins and native language. The recording is put in context by an interview of Hopinka with his mother in Whatcom County, Washington, where the family still lives, far from the lands in southern California — yet, still at home.
