It's summertime, somewhere in the Portuguese countryside. After a wave of fires, Chico is haunted by a hate crime committed against a young man he was involved with. During the Popular Saints festivities, under pressure from his friends, Chico ignores his own desires and anxieties, and tries to adjust to socially imposed standards. A film about the desire to integrate into a small, prejudiced rural community that is hostile to difference. In Case of Fire won the student competition of the San Sebastián Film Festival in 2019.
