Programme:
Based on the everything-defining play by Sophocles, Oedipus is haunted by the prophecy that he’ll kill his father and marry his mother. Pasolini presented this film in Stockholm, as part of a small, Swedish talk in late October 1975. During the question and answer session that followed its screening, he responded to one question bluntly: that he expected to be murdered. Immediately on his return to Rome he’d be led to the seaside by a man promising intimacy, and killed.
